Speculating...

I've been wearing glasses on and off since my first year of high school so I was aged 12-13. It had always fascinated me that two lenses are capable of perfecting my vision instantaneously. And now I wear glasses on an everyday basis because my eyesight has gotten worse and I kind of like glasses on me. They are capable of hiding some of my skin perfections and sometimes wearing contacts can be troubling so yes, I'm comfortable with my glasses on at all times. My current pair is the Ray-Ban RB5283 in 2144 and I like them. It's been almost a year since I've gotten them and they fit quite nicely on my face but I feel like it's time for a change. And that's when my friend had brought Oscar Wylee into my life.

The concept behind the brand is revolutionary as it grows with the technological changes in the world we live in today. Basically they sell high quality glasses at an affordable price as they by-pass the process of selling through retailers.

But I can understand that ordering glasses online is quite risky as you wouldn't know if they'll look good on you or if they fit right. Most high-end brands now offer a virtual try-on to give you an idea of how they look like on but Oscar Wylee goes beyond the norm and provide a great buying experience for the customer. They offer a free home trial where up to five pairs of glasses, optical or sunglasses, are delivered to your house and you can return them back for free. Even if I wasn't looking into buying glasses, the option to have glasses delivered to your door for free makes want to order a few pairs just to blog about it!

A box arrived early in the morning, the day after I had made my order. I was excited and thrilled to try them on.

I like the gradient as the red fades into a soft brown colour. I am just unsure whether or not it is fit for every day wear. I also think that they don't suit me well so I think i'm most likely going to pass on this pair.

First of all, I would love to compliment these glasses on their matte texture. Whenever anything comes in a matte form, I tend to gravitate towards them, whether it is nail polish, lipstick, cars or glasses. Even though these are not my favourite pair of glasses (I feel like round glasses suit my face shape more), I am in love with them because of their texture!

These glasses are a bit too similar to my current specks considering that they are tortoise pattern and rounded in the same way that mine are. Also, I feel like the nose bridge area is too rounded, making it hard to fit right on my face. But hey, that's just my opinion!

 Montgomery in Honey Dusk

These were the glasses that I first added to my "bag" because I was in love with the retro feel that was coming from the ombre-gradient effect. However, I tried to make myself believe that they suit me but they're too boxy and square for my face shape, once again. If you're considering to try out glasses from this site, please make sure you add these glasses to your bag because you will regret it if you don't.

 Jarvis in Gilded Tortoise

I didn't think too much of this pair as I was just finding the last of my five for the home trial. However, I think I like these the most out of all of them. They are definitely not everyone's cup of tea but I am in love with the once again retro feel from these glasses. And from checking out the website, these glasses also come in Cedarwood Matte and that completely sold me.

So all in all, if you live in Australia, PLEASE CHECK OUT OSCAR WYLEE'S WEBSITE. You'll never look back at regular old, boring glasses.
And if you're not from Australia, don't worry! They're planning to expand overseas soon.

Hope everyone is having a good week! x

  1. Oh, perfect! I like the last pair the most - the colour is fantastic and the shape really suits you :). I'd also like to wear glasses sometimes, but for now there is no need for it.. I guess I'll just wait till I'm old enough ;).

  5. I always wanted glasses, I have perfect vision and I even when I tried to fake having bad eyes in an eye test when I was 13 (haha) it didn't work. I like all of these styles but my favourite pair is the last pair! :)
