Trending: Neon Brights

Neon. The revival of a trend from circa. 2007ish? I remember this year clearly because this was around the same time I graduated Primary School. Oh good old $2 neon nail polishes, oversized tees and leggings. We all looked like we were in an 80s commercial, sponsored by SUPRÉ. All I can say is i'm glad I got over this phase and I have matured into a more sophisticated style (what a joke). So when I found out that neon was trending again, 5 years down the track, I was quite sceptical and afraid that it would look... tacky. However, I underestimated the power of fluorescent colours and i'm glad to say that i'm on-board the neon-train!

It was featured in plentiful runways for SS12 and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Brands were able to incorporate the bright colours into fashionable, trendsetting outfits that would allow individuals, like you and me, to stand out in a crowd.
