theBalm Balmbini Face Palette and Sexy Mama Translucent Powder Review

Wow. Wasn't that a mouth-full? Sorry that I've been MIA for the past couple of days but school work has taken its toll on me and now it's officially the holidays! Can't wait for the fun times to begin! Now straight to the review!
I have been wanting to try out theBalm products for the longest time ever since I saw their Cast Your Shadow Face Palette (Muppets Collection), I knew I had to try some stuff out. I was window shopping in one of Australia's leading department stores, David Jones and I saw a theBalm stand and I freaked! I was there for probably half an hour before I realised there was a promotion: I would receive the Balmbini palette FOR FREE if I purchase something over $27.95.
It was a tough decision because I wanted to try out everything. So I chose the translucent powder since I was running out of my daily face powder.
Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder
First of all, I need to express how much I love the packaging. They are just so eye-catching and beautiful. Secondly, I have to say that this was quite a good powder but I probably won't purchase it again. It does everything it says: it removes shine while mattifying the face. It is translucent so it would suit a lot of skin tones. I just don't think it was worth $27.95 and I personally prefer my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder but I'll definitely finish it regardless.
Balmbini Volume 2 Palette
I wanted to try this palette out as soon as I received it since I've heard a lot of great things and also IT'S FREE. The palette had everything I wanted in a palette. It consisted of:
  • matte black shadow/liner
  • pearlescent beige highlighter/shadow
  • orangey-coppery shadow
  • toned down teal shadow with silver shimmer
  • medium-toned purple with silver shimmer
  • bright pinky-red lip/cheek cream
  • pinky-nude lip gloss

Everything were extremely pigmented and long lasting on the skin. The eyeshadows were suitable for everyday wear or even a night out. The only thing that probably disappointed me would have been the nude lip colour, since I don't generally like nude lip colours as it is too similar to my skin tone and I don't feel comfortable with it. But for other nude-lip lovers, I think it would be a great colour, it's just not for me.

Overall, I would say that theBalm is not just a brand of good packaging. They have great products on offer and I can't wait to try out more. If you live in Australia, you should definitely head over to David Jones and check out this promotion. I think it is still going on now, and even if it isn't, you should still check it out regardless!

Which products from theBalm would you request for me to try out? Hope you had a lovely day. x
